Welcome to the new school year at Furqaan Academy!
It gives me great pleasure to welcome all new and returning students and their parents to another exciting school year at Furqaan Academy. Our goal this year, as it has been every year is to make every effort to help your child achieve great success academically, socially and spiritually. It is our sincere aim to provide an enriching and great learning environment that engages each student. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding and a positive school experience.
Academic emphasis on the core content areas of math, science, reading, language arts, writing, and social studies will remain a priority as well as providing programs that builds on each year so that the students excel beyond the local; and state standards. Our Math & Science program at the elementary level in which a thematic curriculum is mainly used, aims to help students nourish their intellectual level in these subjects. This thematic curriculum with a Montessori approach helps students learn through hands-on activities. Students achieve more by completing different projects, understanding those projects and will In Shaa Allah never forget the outcome of the experience because it is related to their daily life. This is a long lasting learning process.
The amount of attention given to the Quranic Studies program is the same given to secular education. To make sure that our program is more advanced than any other program that exists; we start Al-Qaeda Al-Noraniah and Quranic Arabic at the preschool and kindergarten level. All our students starting from Pre-K are immersed in Arabic language on a daily basis thus enabling them to use and comprehend Arabic in class. Our ultimate goal is to help students become independent and fluent in the language of Quran, Arabic.
To continue serving the community and to aspire for the best in our community, high school classes were launched in the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. The Junior Alim program was also introduced to 8th through 12th grade classes, during the 2012-2013 school year. The fundamentals of understanding the Quran are taught through the Fiqh, hadeeth, Tafseer Al-Quran and Islamic History classes. In addition to these classes, all state graduation requirements will be fulfilled by the students in order to graduate.
The low tuition at Furqaan Academy has made it affordable for parents who may not have considered a private school option to afford this unique and balanced Hifdh and secular studies program.
Finally, and most importantly, we need your sincere prayers so that ALLAH SWT guide, bless Furqaan Academy services and provide us resources from His abundant treasures and help us build a world class institution. I would like to end with the quote: “If a human dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqa Jariah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.” – Sahih Muslim.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
Mrs. Haiat Bousmaha
