Ramadan Opportunities and Resources!

Dear Furqaan Academy Parents, Staff and Volunteers,

Extend Your Choicest Support this Ramadan!
The generosity and kindness of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) knew no bounds in the month of Ramadan. As the rewards of each good deed is multiplied numerous times in this month, we urge you to support the establishment of Furqaan Academy. Your support today for Furqaan Academy will make you eligible to be part of each and every good deed performed at this project – that is every letter of the Qur’an our students are reciting, every time they are making Salat, every time they are smiling and the everlasting benefit of a wholesome education they will continue to enjoy and share with the world!

Here is how you can help:

1. Benefit Iftaar: Host a Benefit Iftaar for Furqaan Academy at your residence. The startup, and initial investment cost of Furqaan Academy far exceed the revenue generated through tuition. We need to raise $250,000 in the first year to start Furqaan Academy with a great footing. 50 families hosting a benefit iftar with 10 guest families will allow us to reach 500 families. A $500 appeal to 500 families can yield $250,000 – that’s only $40 a month for each family. Please click on the Benefit Iftaar Sign Up button on this email to become a Furqaan Academy host this Ramadan. Allah’s blessings are with the Jam’ah – with our collective effort.

2. Local Masjid Iftaar on behalf of Furqaan Academy: Parents, Staff and Volunteers are encouraged to group up to host an Iftaar at their respective Masajid. This will allow us the opportunities to present FACC to the local Masjid communities. Are you already hosting an Iftaar at Allen, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, and EPIC? Ask the Masjid to allow us to talk to the community about Furqaan Academy that same night.

3. Liaison with Masjid Leadership: Do you serve on a Masjid board? Please ask your local Masjid leadership to allow us a Jumu’ah or Taraweeh slot for a fundraising appeal. Furqaan Academy was launched in a matter of months, and while in the startup mode we were not able to contact Masajid for Ramadan dates. Please humbly request your Masjid board to make an exception for us in our inaugural year and schedule us a slot for appeal this Ramadan.

4. Your Zakat to Help Establish Our Prestigious Institution: Do you know many families would love to benefit from our Hifz and Islamic education but they cannot afford it? Choose Furqaan Academy to donate your Zakat this Ramadan to sponsor students with financial need.

5. Marketing to Masajid and Businesses: Please make sure the businesses and Masajid you visit regularly have our Flyers/Posters on display. We need to make sure all the Brothers and Sisters side bulletin boards at Masajid display our flyers.

6. Open House Publicity: Our first Open House is scheduled on this weekend Saturday, August 14th at 11:30 am. Make a personal announcement at your local Masjid, email and call your friends/community leaders/potential parents to visit the school during our Open House this Saturday.

Ramadan Resources!
Finally, we would like to share the following resources that Furqaan families can use to motivate and educate their family, relatives and friends about Ramadan.

· All Furqaan families are encouraged to host daily discussions about the virtues and practices of Ramadan with their family and relatives. Please see the attached PowerPoint presentation created by a fellow educator that highlights the various aspects of Ramadan:

· As the Prophet SAW has mentioned that Du’a is the essence of worship and we are attaching a Du’a booklet that parents and teachers can use in learning, and re-learning the basic Ramadan Du’as with our students:
