Dear Members of Collin County/DFW community,
Only Allah (swt) is worthy of all praise and may His peace and blessings be on His final messenger (PBUH).

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of Furqaan Academy Collin County, we would like to invite you to our Inaugural Fundraising Dinner on July 31st, 2010 at 6:30PM at the Doubletree Hotel in Dallas/Richardson. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Abidullah Ghazi, is a world renowned figure recognized as one of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world. He is the founder of Iqra International Educational Foundation, which is responsible for a majority of the books that children attending Sunday Schools and other Islamic Schools probably use. He is a graduate of Aligarh University and has a PHD from Harvard University. He is a pioneer in Islamic education in the United States. We hope you will join us in recognizing this great personality that has touched the lives of many Muslim children not only here but around the world.

When IACC (Plano Masjid) decided to close down the IACC Academy elementary program we, Furqaan Academy, decided to start the first full-time Hifz and Islamic School here in the Collin County area that provides a balanced education program from Pre-School to High School. While today we offer Pre-school (Infant/Toddler,
Montessori, Daycare) thru 5th grade programs, our goal is to add a grade every year till 12th grade Insha’Allah. Our program/curriculum includes Hifz (memorization of the Qur’an) and Arabic as a Second Language integrated with the PISD curriculum (for Math, science, language arts, etc.). Currently we are in a 14,000 sqft. rented facility at 1227 W. McDermott Dr., Allen, TX 75013 at the intersection of Alma and McDermott, about a mile west of US75.

Alhamdulillah, with the growth of the Muslim community in Collin County and with its growing Mosques and Islamic centers, we felt the need to establish a school that the Collin County community could call their very own (Alhamdulillah, an initial enrollment of about 88 students already is a fair indication). We are blessed and thankful to all the Masaajid and Islamic centers that are holding hands with us and supporting us in this cause to serve the community of Collin County. Our objective is not to be just another Islamic school, but to provide a unique Quran centered education program that integrates with the highly acclaimed PISD curriculum. We firmly believe that it is high time that our Islamic schools are held to a standard of excellence in a balanced education program that meets the challenges of our western society by producing the best of the best in secular education and by producing the future leaders of our ummah that are deeply grounded in the knowledge of our faith and are proud of their Islamic identity.

We know that in order for parents in our communities to consider an Islamic school alternative, we have to demonstrate excellence and achieve results better than what a public school system has to offer. We therefore appeal to you to support us as we embark on this ambitious endeavor in our community. Let us work to establish a proper educational institution to serve the interests of our future generations – one we can all be proud of and one that can be a model institution right here deep in the heart of Collin County, Texas, InshaAllah.

Whether you intend to send your children or not, please attend so that you can see for yourself the Furqaan Academy difference. 4) Volunteer at different masaajid to distribute flyers and/or sell tickets after evening prayers and jum’ah salah. Please contact Sr. Farina at 972-836-6322 if you can volunteer.

5) Help us by becoming a sponsor either for your own business or solicit people or businesses you know to become a sponsor for this event.
