Mathematics

The goal of the class is to have students feel confident and resourceful as they learn to use math in their daily lives. At the elementary level students will learn addition, subtraction, identifying and writing fractions as well counting and computing coins. Students will then learn to multiply larger numbers, identify geometric terms and shapes and finally organize information into tables and graphs. At the intermediate level, students will be able to analyze data, use the four operations on decimals and fractions in addition to working with ratios, proportions, and percentage. Students will also be introduced to the basic skills of algebra, arithmetic skills, and problem solving techniques.
